Introducing Dr Nguyen Nguyen

Dr Nguyen Nguyen is a seasoned GP with over 20 years of experience as a doctor. She was raised in Perth and did her medical training at the University of WA. Working as a GP she noticed an increasing desire amongst many patients wanting treatment options that didn’t involve more medications. This inspired her to complete a degree in medical acupuncture in 2020 with the Australian Medical Acupuncture College (AMAC). Dr Nguyen is trained in both traditional needle acupuncture and in laser acupuncture.

Having skills as both a general Practitioner and in acupuncture means Dr Nguyen is well placed to understand how to best integrate acupuncture into your medical care.

Acupuncture is currently only available with Dr Nguyen on Wednesdays between 8am and 3pm.

What is Acupuncture?

what is acupuncture

Acupuncture has been practiced for more than 2000 years in China, however it has only been in the past few decades that it has become a popular and widely recognised form of therapy in many countries around the world including Australia.

Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine needles into specific points on the body to try and stimulate a response from the nerves and other body tissues to help restore balance and treat a specific symptoms or problem you have.

What is laser acupuncture?

Acupuncture can also be done using laser. This is based on the laser beams penetrating under the skin and stimulating the nerves and body tissue.

For some patients laser acupuncture may be a better option that traditional needle acupuncture. As part of the assessment Dr Nguyen will discuss which type of acupuncture would be best for you.
